I ran into Billy at the Calgary Folk Fest who stood there selling his two (maybe three) flavours of ice cream from his snappy looking ice cream stand. A super friendly guy who was way more passionate about his ice cream than the great music that surrounded him. Then again he was parked right beside the stages so at least he got the scoop...wait did I use that right?
I tried the gooseberry ice cream. For $5 I got about a cup and half which was more than enough to enjoy. The ice cream was rich and SOOOO tasty I don't think any adjective in the English or Spanish language can justify it. Maybe Swahili, or French.
"Cela a un meilleur goût!"
Still doesn't cut it. The ice cream was creamy and smooth. The flavour was just right that I didn't find it too savoury to want to chew and rapidly eat the whole thing, which was the case with most ice cream I tend to have. I want to enjoy a cup's worth of ice cream, not find a way to weight 300 pounds in one sitting. And the gooseberry flavour came through so well, I LOVE GOOSEBERRIES!
I'm looking forward to visiting their East Village location.
