After clowning around on the outside to figure out where the entrance door is (despite them giving somewhat helpful instructions), we finally ventured in for lunch this past week.
Decor : Quirky would come to mind! An old bicycle hanging above, a set of mirrors looking down at you, some artifacts that looked like old maps of sorts hanging around. There's a ton to take into while you wait for your food!
Service : Pleasant, no issues here
Food : Their Main Menu is a nice mish-mash of several different cuisines and thankfully limited and not some 200 dishes encyclopedia like you get at some chain restaurants.
We ordered a portion each of Bob's Bad Breath Burger and The Weary Traveler Reuben (Pastrami). So, first things first - their portions are HUGE. I've never had a burger this big (not that I've had a lot anyways to compare!).
The burger had a unique twist of having your typical cheese replaced with cream cheese and I actually loved it! It doesn't give any sharpness to the bland meat like say a cheddar would but the creaminess is a pleasant contrast. The caramelized onions were sweet and paired well with the creamy cheese. The meat itself was Medium Done which I wasn't a big fan of (I'd asked for Medium Rare). Still overall a great burger. My only gripe was that the choice of bun wasn't the best as it had a hard time holding it together and kept deteriorating. A side of their Garlicky potato chips was sensational and the greens helped balance all that meat.
The reuben was actually the more enjoyable dish here. The pastrami was juicy, the kraut tangy yet sweet thanks to the apple cider and the rye bread was the perfect carrier for it all. The execution of this sandwich was done much better than the burger. The bacon potato salad side was creamy, smoky goodness!
