| - Overall, a very nice dinner.
The best attribute of this restaurant is the friendly, efficient and thoughtful service. I was especially impressed that our server asked whether we had a show reservations of any other time limitation.
The beverages orders were brought out very timely; I enjoyed the apple-pear hard cider, in particular. Also I enjoyed the bread served in the skillet. The bit of salt was nice, but I would have liked a small dish of salt on the side to add a bit more.
The caesar salad was very nice, consisting of crispy pieces of romaine with a generous serving of anchovy, although I did feel that the dressing was rather light and not very strong in flavor.
The lobster bisque was served table-side with the creamy soup added to the fresh ingredients in the bowl...a very nice touch!
The potato puree was delicious and the chives added nicely to the flavor.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the New York Strip. Although the natural sauce in the serving dish helped the flavor, overall, the steak seemed under-seasoned and a bit dry.
The Monkey Bread was delicious, but I would have preferred the extra pecans on the side, because there was a generous serving of pecan on the bread and then the smallish scoop of ice cream was sort of held hostage by a moat of additional pecans surrounding it.
Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience and I suspect perhaps a different cut of meat may have resulted in a better steak, so I'll try a different cut next time.
