  • Holy moly did Yafo blow me away. It's got a pretty good rep around town but oh MAN did it live up to the hype. The scene: 1:30pm on a Saturday. The place is PACKED. WE stood in line for about 10 minutes. There are lots of tables, the patio was under construction but it didn't look long term so I'd expect it'll be open again soon. The first person who helped us in line was very friendly, the second didn't give a dang about anything. Alas. I couldn't stop piling things onto my plate. I did half hummus/half salad bowl (I personally think getting a hummus bowl would just be too much hummus). I got falafel, beets, slaw, mediterranean salad, and brussels sprouts on top. Everything looked so good I would have gotten it all if I thought I could eat it all. The food: It's seriously so fresh. EVERYTHING was good. The brussels were particularly delectable. Really blew me away. The lemon dressing was refreshing. The hummus was great. The not-actually-pita that they give you is gooey and warm and amazing. A vegetarian paradise, for sure. I will be back to Yafo SOON to try those delicious-looking potatoes and everything else that i didn't yet have. So good.
