| - One of our favorite places to go as a family. We are there almost once a week for feeding the ducks and other interesting water foul, fish, see the burrowing owl habitat, enjoy the plethora of desert vegetation, fruit tress, and flowers and even catch an occasional glimpse of amazing desert wildlife like coyotes, frogs, cranes, road runners, quail, squirrels, giant jackrabbits (those things are huuuuge!), and a massive colony of cotton tails. A sidewalk around the lake makes stroller access easy, the back desert trails are well-kept for exercising/runs, and there's plenty of covered ramadas with picnic tables and benches to accommodate small or very large groups. I've also loved taking my groups of cub scouts to the education center to learn about the desert, do their fun activities, and read the education plaques about the stars and planets that circle the lake. There's classes and events, yoga, and fun community activities held in the center and there's even live music performances in the park sometimes. This place is really a gem. We've made wonderful memories here.
