  • I love this place. They've only groomed my dog once but they are now the groomers I'll go to for anything I need. I have a 24 pound cocker/lab/border collie mix that is 16 years old. He goes absolutely ballistic whenever he's put into a cage or confined space. When I adopted him from the Humane Society they told me he had problems with cages and that he'd probably been abused. Although their vets were guessing at his breed and age, they felt he was about 9 months old when I got him. Within months of getting him I took him to a groomer and asked that they not cage him. When I returned to pick him up I was told that he went crazy when I left. They had ignored my request and caged him. They said they didn't want him back and suggested that I learn how to groom him myself, which I've done since. This was the first time I've taken him to groomers since that experience and I called several and looked up many reviews on Yelp before I did. This place will not cage an animal if you specifically ask them not to. That alone is hard to find and the reason I initially chose them. When I scheduled an appointment I spoke with Erica and explained I was nervous about bringing him in and I elaborated several of his health issues. She convinced me he would be in good hands. When I brought him in Erica came out front and sat on the floor and got to know him for about five minutes. He's frequently scared of most everybody but his tail was wagging with Erica. This salon is owned by Erica's mother. I WILL TAKE my dog back to them and recommend them to all my friends. They are "Top Notch" in my opinion. At one point she was trimming his paws and grinding his nails and since the only times he's tried to nip at me was when I was doing this, I asked if I could come back and hold his head up to prevent any possibility of this happening. She allowed this then told me "he actually behaves better when you're not here." So I left and went for a walk. While I was holding his head up I smelled something that reminded me of "Heat," a cream I used years ago for sore muscles. Erica told me she had added Medi-Boost (by Nature's Specialty) to his shampoo while bathing him which adds that smell but helps relieve sore muscles (particularly for older dogs). She said her experience is that sometimes older dogs show signs of soreness the day following grooming, so she adds this in order to help. For those that are cost conscious, they are less expensive than any other groomers I called. They even offer $5 off if you tell them you learned about them on Yelp. I couldn't be more pleased with the way the treated and groomed my best little buddy.
