  • If I did not have this happen to me I would not believe it. I had been a customer of Century link for 7 years. TO SAY THIS HAS BEEN THE WORSE EXPERIENCE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE OF DOING BUSINESS WITH ANY COMPANY is putting it mildly. I did everything right when I decided to leave CL and go to COX as CL was going to raise my monthly bill from $89 to $129. On Nov 29th I encountered a rude CS REPS but aside from that I honored my commitment for the time duration of one year and told CL I was not going to continue with them and to shut down all my services as of DEC 7 2017. I also called Cox Nov 29th and told them to start my service. On Dec 7 I considered my bill with CL DONE. I got a final bill and paid it in full. Cox started my service both phone and net connection on Dec 8. A few day later I received a bill from CL for $115 which I flatly refused to pay. I contacted BBB in Phoenix told them about the bill and was under the impression that they were going to look into the dispute. After at least a dozen letters to CL disputing the bill and telling them that I have contacted BBB in Phoenix, CL would not close out my account with a zero balance. I contacted BBB in Phoenix and was told that PX BBB sent the problem to Denver BBB and they would look into it. I asked why would you do that. I was given this bogus story about CL headquarters being in Denver and thus the BBB there was to handle the complaint. I waited and after communication with BBB in DENVER I was brushed off. I was then told (this has to take the cake of all BS stories I have ever heard), "WE HAVE TWO WOMAN OUT ON MATERNITY LEAVE AND THUS HAD TO TRANSFER YOU COMPLAINT (Denver) TO CHICAGO. I was then notified that the Chicago office looked into the problem and did not have the authority to make CL do anything and that they were closing the case. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO Better Business Bureau AGENCIES? IS ANYONE WORKING OR ARE THEY JUST GETTING PAID A SALARY AND BLOWING OFF COMPLAINTS? SO basically if CL decides to screw you out of $$$$ because you decide to switch to a better less expensive provider, they have no worries as the incompetence in BBB office is not out to rectify complaints and give satisfaction to customers. Why even bother having a BBB?
