| - We booked 3 rooms, for family that was coming into town and we all stayed at the Homewood Suites, together. Perfect location to take everyone through the Strip District and walk to the North Shore for Friday's Billy Joel concert at PNC Park. Location is key... easy access to Downtown, North Shore, and the Strip District.
This hotel is one of the newer ones in this area, at less than a year old. So, it's got a fresh feel. Lots of events this past weekend with a couple big concerts in the stadiums and the huge furry convention (...insert cringe). I was impressed on how well stocked they managed to keep the complimentary breakfast area. Which I should add, is pretty decent for being a free hotel breakfast. We had our food and coffee on the hotel patio each morning. The patio was the best part of the hotel. They have a few grills you can use and a nice sized fire pit. It doesn't have the most amazing views... mostly of parking lots. However, on the last night of the stay, we took snacks and drinks out to the patio, gathered around the fire pit, and watched the sun set over the city. It was the perfect night cap and very relaxing.
Beds were comfy, place was clean, free Wifi (unlike my old favorite Pittsburgh hotel that decided to charge $15 a night for Wifi... not cool). Couldn't ask for anything more from a hotel. I'll plan to stay here often for events and upcoming family weekends! We actually already booked another weekend stay in October at the Homewood Suites for the family.
