| - Tonight I was insulted by a store employee. I always shopped close to midnight because its when I am done with the gym. Since its right by, I always wear my gym clothes, which are not tight or revealing, just old, my shoes are worn out from running outside. I don't know his name and I never talked to him before, just that he is an average looking black guy of average height and weight looks like mid 30s. He wears all black and I've seen him on the isle stocking drinks/water. I never bothered him or spoke to him and he never uttered a greeting or asked me if I needed help with anything, yet unbeknownst to me, he assessed me. No one was around but another employee and as he wheeled the 6 wheeler, past my left shoulder he questioned me with an apathetic tone, "Why do you always dress so nice"? but he did not make eye contact and he kept going because he didn't expect an answer because it was sarcasm, because my shoes and clothes are worn out. I got the impression right away that they talk behind the customers back because the other guy nearby heard him but didn't say anything. It should not be a concern to him how I dress, which he took note of. I am only there to shop, not to receive a slap across my face. I am nice and happy and give Smiths my money for food. He wanted to say it and felt the need to insult me which shows me something is already wrong with him, not feeling restrained, tells me they might be talking about other customers or myself and knows he will still have a job and is confident in it. I should not have to answer to him or Smiths, "why do you always dress so nice". Maybe I look homeless, and felt it was o.k since I would not have anyone to tell, my point they should not treat others who they feel are beneath them any different than another customer. He's not new, and his arrogant comment tells me he is locked in at 40, and probably has topped out.. $$ and of course the union insurance. He forgets that any strong deserving person can do his job and offer the benefits that he does not to the company and that is half way decent customer service, and he is not even half way or I would not be writing this review. Yes, far from welcoming, it was demeaning, some people would call it bullying because I don't even know him, and it was unprovoked. I will never go back, there are plenty of other good stores to buy groceries on every corner in Las Vegas.
