  • I went in for an infected finger and was told blood tests showed my kidneys were shutting down, BIG time!!!.... I was obviously devastated. I told the ER Dr. that I felt fine. When he read off other symptoms I had none of them. The Dr. also told me that my potassium level was good which is strange as if I had kidney failure it would spike, However rather than do a retest before delivering me such awful news of a fatal illness they sent me to UMC. Once there they re-did my blood work. After about 5 hours of preparing to meet my maker, the Dr. comes and and says I'm fine. I nearly kissed her.. St Rose screwed up the tests! I am speaking to an attorney. I am not a litigious person but to put someone thru such stress unnecessarily without double checking (especially since there were signs of error) is deplorable. Someone had better do some apologizing quick. All this and I'm SURE they charged my insurance company for the visit and the unnecessary extra TWO LITERS of saline they pumped into my body for my healthy kidneys. I thought hospitals were a notch above ever other incompetent businesses.
