  • This place has always been expensive, but recently the price differences between Summer Winds and home improvement stores has gotten dramatic. I looked at a pineapple guava tree here this week, for example, and they wanted $80. Down the street at a home improvement store- the same plant from the same grower was only $26. Insane. Additionally, Ive found that a lot of the plants, in particular the cacti- are mislabeled. I was looking at several plants that were labeled as "peruvian apple cactus" that were not actually apple cactus. I pointing this out to an employee, but they didnt really seem too concerned about it. Also, they were asking $50 for said mislabeled cactus, which I found for $18 at the home improvement store. Yikes!
