  • If you like a sale then "the Lobby's" your spot! Need craft or art supplies, come here first. They're generally cheaper than nearby Michael's and the selection is much better (most of the time). They also have a great framing dept that almost always runs 50% off sales. My most recent visit was to find new mats for a few prints I've had for years & wanted to freshen up a bit. I was able to find two pre-cut double mats for only $2.50 each (reg $5 ea). The other set I'll need to have them custom cut. Sadly custom mats-only aren't included in the half-off framing sale, but that's ok. Either way they were cheaper than Michael's (the same pre-cut mat there was $8 ea, and rarely on sale, and custom mats were about 50% higher). The real draw for me personally is the home décor. Now if you look at the regular price, I think most of it's too pricy for what it is, but it's ALWAYS being marked half off! Want that set of candle holders that would look perfect in your bedroom but don't wanna pay $70 for the set (sold individually)? Well wait till next week - it's almost certain "candles, candle holders & reed diffusers" will be half off! Check out their weekly sales online. They typically put "groups" of things on sale each week. For instance this week the groups include: "decorative boxes, trunks & chests," "glassware," "painted wood décor," "ceramics, pottery & polyresin," and "candles, flameless LED candles, candle holders & reed diffusers," among MANY many others! I'm EXTREMELY picky about the things I select for my home, and there are a lot of things I pass on here (especially if it has that mass-produced, Kirkands-esque feel). However I have found tons of items that people think I picked up at some expensive specialty shop since its usually HL-exclusive products! And I get that warm fuzzy feeling because I got that item at a true bargain! And they really shine when it comes to a CLEARANCE sale!!! You do have to pop in regularly to catch them though. They typically start around 60% off, then go to 80%, and then to NINETY percent off!! I've been burned several times w/clearance - grab it the moment you see it, otherwise you're certain to be outta luck when you go back a few days later. One other detail worth noting is that you can find a lot of faith-based décor/crafts/etc at HL. This is especially nice when looking for an interesting, faith or religion-related gift for a friend or loved one. I'm not necessarily THE most religious person around, but I like that they aren't afraid to show that they are a faith-based business - unheard of these days. As another reviewer noted, they are closed on Sunday to allow employees to be with their families and attend services. Sure, I sometimes wish they were open Sunday's for convenience, but I admire them for that. My only complaint is that they all too often need to open another register. Or two. Or three. I get reeeeally irritable when I and six others are forced to stand in line behind the lady that's purchasing 150 individual artificial flower stems, and that's the only register open. ESPECAILLY when you see employees roaming the store...are they not register trained??? Overall I find the employees to be pretty friendly. You're typically greeted when you walk in, and I've always received assistance when needed--although you have to track someone down at times. If you haven't check out Hobby Lobby, stop in when you have a chance. I bet you'll find SOMEthing to walk away with.
