| - We had never been to Tarbell's before, and decided it was the place to grab an early Mother's Day dinner. The service is impeccable, and you will feel tended to throughout your visit.
I enjoyed my grilled romaine salad, and the roasted chicken was wonderful. I'd read on Yelp that they would let you order half portions, which allowed me to get half a salad, as well as half of the chicken paired with half of the ribbon pasta. Yes, that was far too much food for me, but I was able to try a variety of things, and had leftovers for tomorrow.
I appreciate that Tarbell's offers this option for portions. I shared the cheesecake for dessert, and it was wonderful. If the description of rosemary in the caramel sauce freaks you out, don't worry. It really is just a hint of the herb.
**I almost dropped a star off my review because of the owner, but decided that the food and service are what matters. He was making his way to all of the tables, yet pointedly skipped ours. The logical assumption is that he was very busy. But when he first came through, we were one of three occupied tables. As the room filled, he made it to every table but ours. As we stood up to walk out, he made eye contact with me. No smile, no "thanks for coming"- he just turned away. It was hard not to feel completely slighted.
