I live in Monkland Village and I came across this place by accident. I just moved to Montreal this month and I was lost, but I smelled the most incredible smells from down the road and as I walked in, I was swept away. Wow. This place has the most incredible tradtional Eastern European baked goods, and the prices are not over the top either. You can get a whole bulka Challah for 3.30!!! The older guy who works there is always attentive, the service is always fast, and after being sorely deprived of the kind of foods I grew up eating in Toronto, I have to say this place not only holds major sentimentality for me, but it also made me feel very at home, even living in a new city I don't recognize.
Absolutely love. Very odd location, very good bakery. The only tiny downfall though, and be aware! THEY ONLY TAKE CASH!!
