  • This is one of my story and you decide if I was right or wrong for me to give them a bad review. It was my daughter birthday. I decided to deposit $200.00 cash to her children bank account that she had since the age of 3 years old. I thought it would be a simple task. Fill out the deposit slip and gave to the teller like I always do, Usually it take me 5 minute max. Not anymore, the bank have new rules because they like to make new rule to created more confusion and will allowed more human error. So since March 1, You cannot deposit cash to your child, wife, relative or friends account if you don't have your name attach to the account you deposit the money too. I was told that the bank was afraid, it is laundry money. So for deposit the $200.00 cash you have to have a bank account to the same bank of the person you plan to give the money too. If not you have to write them a check. Unfortunately I didn't have my check book with me. But I was lucky to have one account with the same bank. So, I had to deposit the $200.00 to my account then the teller had to withdraw that money to finally deposited to my daughter account. Not a transfer? So I asked to see the manager and I explained ludicrous this all transaction is. But her answer was, I quote "We are a business and we are here to make money" I responded. No you are a bank that is suppose to protect the money of the people. Unfortunately you have not done a could job. May be we should all have stop opening account and keep it at home because since at least 2007 it is saver there. We would not have to be legally rope bye the bank with make up fees. Then she blamed the government. It always better to blame some one else. I only blame the government for bailing the bank out. Those institution should have going down. May be they would have learned something. But the government bailed them out hoping they would help us. That was a joke, I still waiting for my bail out or any help by the bank. Anyway let go back to the story. Ok. So wild I am having this conversation with the manager, the teller was still trying to figure it out to deposit the $200.00 to my daughter account. It's been 30 minutes and the deposit wasn't finalized yet. So I asked what was wrong? She told me that she couldn't do the deposit because the account was dormant. Which means if you don't use your account for a laps of time they deactivate it. I said, she is 14 year old and it is children account of course she won't use it everyday. Well the teller had to ask the manager to activate the account for her to be able to finally the deposit. So a simple deposit that usually would have taken 5 minutes. It actually took me 45 minutes with a lot of deposit and withdraw slips. (go green:) On top of that my daughter have over $10,000.00 to her account and she get a lousy $0.08 monthly interest. I am so thankful for such a generosity. Now I am the only one that think something is wrong with our bank system lately and unfortunately it is getting worth. Don't they realized they do need us to survive. May be they should go back to transparency and honesty Please go back why the bank were created for in the first place. Yes, I am just a frustrated single dad that tried to do the right think. Now, I scare that everything I try to do for my daughter will be vanished when she need it. Because they will make new rules with of course new fees before she will turn 20. That is it for now. God bless everyone. Thank you for reading. Sign: Simple man with a small voice in the universe.
