| - Ok so I love outdoor markets and meeting farmers and getting yummy fresh produce straight from the supplier. I also love street fairs that bring together a ton of local vendors to sell their products (especially things like marinated olives, the best!). However, I feel like the Market at MacLeod tries to do both of these things and instead of doing one well, I feel like they do both just ok.
Don't get me wrong, you will find some produce and some great local products. However, I feel like the presence of one somehow detracts from the other. For instance, there were a ton of food stalls but the actual market part (with you know, fresh fruits and veggies) was super limited. Plus, I feel like if the whole was to have a robust food court, the vegetarian/vegan options were also incredibly limited. That seems counterintuitive to me.
The vendors present, though, had quality ingredients/products but the prices were super high and like I said, the selection was pretty limited. If I am going to pay those prices, I would like more selection. To be honest, I would rather just go to Community or Planet Organic and I would come to the Market for a good lunch.
