Went here recently for chalky paint event with a friend. Had a lovely time as it was just us so we were able to chat without disturbing others. The owner Karen is friendly and down to earth. More importantly, she is a master at crafting and provided her expertise in helping us repaint our small tables. The brushes and paint are provided. I wasn't expecting as many colors to choose from so that was a pleasant surprise. They have plenty of neutral shades as well as bold colors. Karen explained the process (and didn't mind repeating things when asked). She is a wealth of knowledge and we found ourselves wanting to take on more craft projects at home! Now whether we will follow through is a different question...
The only thing that kept this from a five star experience is that we had to get the wax on top of the workshop fee. However, I did enjoy supporting a small business and would definitely return again for another crafting adventure. For those of us that are not artsy by nature, these workshops are a great way to channel that energy and actually wind up with something useful.
Be sure to browse the boutique itself. Tons of handmade items, upcycled furniture, etc. that I would have loved to buy if I didn't have a small child at home that would ruin it in five seconds. Also, if you're interested in using chalk like paint on furniture at home, they sell the cans in the store (bonus: they don't smell!).
