Go in with the proper expectations, and you will not be disappointed! This is a one-man shop, and he doesn't want to turn people away, so yes, he gets backed up. If you're seriously in a hurry to get something repaired, this may not be your place. I took in my 1979 stereo/record player, and I was in no rush to get it back. It was more important to me that it be with someone competent who could fix it properly, and who would care about doing things right.
Gary did a great job on my record player, and even fixed an additional issue with the stereo that I knew was present, but which I forgot to mention when I dropped it off.
Just check in with him periodically for updates. If you drop something off and then don't call for six months, I can see where your item may get lost in the backlog.
