A friend of mine told me about Poblano's at work. I held of going thinking it was going to be a dive. When I finally went, I found out I was WAY off. This place is far from a dive, matter of fact, once I stepped in I felt like it was sitting in Scottsdale. The food is well priced ($8 to $12) for what you get. They have vegetarian options on the menu and don't miss out on the soup. They also have daily specials.
I am not a vegetarian, but my Doctor says I have to eat better so I had the Poblano Chili stuffed with veggies with the Tortilla Soup. I was shocked when it showed up. The Chef brings the food out to you, it shows up in nice white square dishes and is arranged like something you would see in a food review magazine. The soup was spicy, but not so much where I needed to sooth it. The veggies in the chili were cooked enough as to make them soft, but not mushy so you loose all the vitamins and they were juicy. My Wife and I have been cooking only with Olive Oil for the past 15 years and it tasted to me that the veggies had a little olive oil with them.
I was very happy and will go back. I'm a native to Phoenix and have lived here 48 years so Mexican food has been a staple of my life. With that in mind, I would recommend you give the place a try.
