Came here for an hour on New Years and they had fantastic live music and a pretty festive vibe! Liberty Silver performed for the 50th time there and according to their website she was
"the first Black woman in Canada to receive a Juno Award in 1985, not to mention receiving an additional Juno the same night! Liberty Silver shaped the foundation of R&B/soul for an entire generation of black female singers in Canada! Liberty has opened for:
* U.S. President Barack Obama
* Bob Marley
* B.B. King
* Sheryl Lynn
* Maya Angelou
* Desmond Tutu
* Celine Dion
* The Temptations"
So that was a treat and she seems to perform there often. Enjoyed some good mo-town and a fun dance floor with a fairly older but down-to-earth crowd. I would recommend checking this place out with some friends while one of their live bands is on for the night =)
