| - For a mall store, this is quite large but seeing how it sells furniture, it's CRAMMED with every possible item from their inventory. I do have to admit they do make good use of the layout to not see too overwhelming. They have 4 floors to showcase everything from spoons, coffee tables, plates, bedding, pillows, and beds.
With Restoration Hardware just landing across the mall, the Pottery Barn seemed considerably more empty compared to other months. The style is faux Hamptons... cottage like but you know someone paid a lot of money for it. And wow... did they ever. On sale, we saw just one leather arm chair for $800 and it wasn't an unique design. It was your typical squared off simple chair. The crazy part was that we saw others for $1500 and up.
At this time, they had all their summer patio items out and I do have to give them credit on the pretty displays. I feel like it is out of some Stepford wife backyard scenario with everything coordinating down to the accent stripes. Cute... but perhaps too cutesy perfect.
As for service, I'm going to be honest and say it was non existent. Even if I did find someone walking around, they were running into the back and not even acknowledging one person along the way. I think I only saw 2 my entire time there and one was at the cashier. I'm not sure how they're running this store with so few people on a Saturday.
For the price point they're charging, I feel like it should either be unique and different from any other store or have really good service. I don't feel they're hitting either point. Perhaps its an off day or that Restoration Hardware is taking their lustre away. Either way, I wont be returning here immediately to look for a decorative item. Maybe if they have a sale... as long as I can find a service associate.
