In all honesty the only Bay location worth visiting is Queen Street.
I grew up in Markham - therefore, Markville was the mall to visit.
Visiting several years later I noticed the upgrades and renovations - yet The Bay is still the same. Tired carpeting, very small selection and sizing, sad displays. Customer service in this store is atrocious. I kept calling various departments to inquire into locating a particular dress and size. None of the departments picked up and the "manager on duty" didn't bother calling me back.
I decided to call the 1-800 number. A friendly associate decided to call the store on my behalf.
She was on hold for over 30 minutes - which means *I* was on hold for over 30 minutes.
The Bay needs to get right or get left. It's why high-end American retailers are getting my dollars. They believe in customer service and modernizing their workforce.
The Markville location should either retrain their staff or hire people who are passionate about retail and customer service. And do something about the store. It's old, tired and employees are disinterested.
