This rink is great- 2 full size and a small "puddle" rink to help tots learn. They have great coaches who volunteer to teach kids of various ages play hockey. We have a child who has played hockey since we lived up north and were happy to find a lot of kids/parents who also did. BUT the rink recently held registration/ evaluations for a select team. At registration you can pay for half the season or the entire ($800) at once. I learned that children for the select teams were NOT selected based on ability, but on which parents paid for the full season- keep in mind select teams can be close to $2000/ season. Some parents were not even called when their child has always been on a select team because they had not paid enough prior. The owner/ director should not be taking opportunities away from a child without giving a parent time to decide if they can/ will put money out. This is extremely unethical to me and the CMHA needs to be aware.
