| - Tried to "stop in" here on a Saturday around 6:30, but should have known it would have a long wait like every other restaurant right around the capital. We out our names in and got a drink elsewhere, as the bar was packed, and were texted to come back in 45 minutes.
We were seated at a bar table next to the window and began to peruse the drinks section. Unfortunately the drafts are only listed on the board behind the bar and I had to rather awkwardly scurry over/get in the waitresses way to look at it. I ended up getting a madtown nutbrown (bottled) and my boyfriend got a crown and Sprite. They were very generous with the spirits!
We started with the pretzels app because we were craving them, and they were as good as pretzels can be for not being house made.
As we continued on to ordering food go dinner we were both struck by the enormity of it. Being on one page and in tiny font, it was hard to focus our eyes on any one thing. With about 6+ kinds of fries, all that sound delicious, it seems as though different menu items could be better grouped. On a side note, sandwiches also do not include a side.
We ended up ordering a grilled cheese, chicken fritters, and sour cream and onion fries to split. Again, everything was yummy but not anything I'll remember forever. The grilled cheese had garlic aioli on it, which I love and discovered recently, but it was overflowing. The boyfriend really enjoyed the sour cream and onion fries, and we took them home to reheat.
Overall, good and unpretentious food. I plan to come back eventually and try out something else, probably on a weeknight.
