  • I booked my appointment with Vixen Nails despite the not so great reviews I found on Yelp, but I was convinced by their really nice website and easy online booking system .... and the fact that it was close to my work and I had a work party to go to that night and wanted my nails done! I'm not experienced with getting my nails done. I've had 1 set of acrylics in my life, and getting a set of nails is definitely a treat for me so I was super excited for my appointment at Vixen. The inside of the salon itself is VERY nice; super cute, really high ceilings and I love that they always have a movie playing on the screen. I had come in early for my 3:15 appointment (got there around 3:05) and I had to wait until 3:35 to be seen. Not a huge deal! Anyways, I asked for shellac with tips because my nails are SO short. The lady who helped me was incredibly nice, very sweet and very professional. She helped me pick my colour and explained the process. I ended up walking out of there close to 5pm (longer than what I was expecting) but I was pretty happy. On the website I was told that it was going to cost me 45-55 dollars .... I ended up paying 75. I guess tips cost more .....? As a newbie, I didn't know this and no one told me! I would have appreciated the front desk staff to tell me these things and maybe suggest a cheaper option than shellac for me. Also, the website said my appointment would include a hand and arm massage but I didn't get that ? Over all, nice place but NOT worth the price I paid. I had a decent experience but I won't be going back. I'll stick to a cheaper place and probably acrylics after this. But hey, you decide for yourself!
