| - The wife and I stayed at the Wyndham last night and it was a nice hotel.
When we arrived, we were greeted by the valet for parking, which we did use. $20 let us park all night. We were quickly assigned a room and we got a huge discount via my employer. The large flower vase contained fake flowers in the entrance. I thought that was tacky.
Our room was on the fourth floor. The elevators were antiquated, but they worked. We went to our room to drop our luggage off and then we went exploring. First we scoped the bar on the first floor. It was small, but it served the purpose. They serve food all day as well as alcohol. We skipped the breakfast buffet though, because it was $13.50 per person!
Then we went to the pool in the basement to see how nice it was. It too was antiquated and it kind of smelled bad. There were several people swimming and there was also a hot tub. It was really hot and humid in the pool room. There was a also a sauna. The whole pool room didn't look inviting to me.
Then we went to the third floor to explore the weight room. It was nice. It has two treadmills, an elyptical, a multifunction weight machine, an exercise ball, a nice flat screen TV, two benches, a full rack of dumbbells, and a water dispenser. I used a lot of these items during my morning workout.
It took about 15 minutes to retrieve our car each time we called the valet, so plan ahead for that.
The bed was comfortable and the room was a little chilly, but nice. We adjusted the thermostat when we got in and it heated up quickly enough.
The evening before, we went to see Blue Man Group at the Palace Theater. On our way out, we happened to ride the elevator with three of them and we had a little chit chat and complemented them on their funny and entertaining performance. We said, 'This was our first time seeing Blue Man Group", and they said, "This was our first show too!"
On the outside, this hotel looks really nice, but on the inside it's dated. The staff were friendly and attentive.
