| - Dr. Gatlin 5 stars if you can get past his horrible office staff. I've been a patient of his for 5 years. Last year I saw the doctor and gave the front office staff my current medical card, I was unaware that my previous employer didn't take me off the insurance, so my current insurance denied it. After research, my previous and current insurance would both pay so the bill would be taken care of at 100%. I contacted Dr. Gatlin's office and spoke to Brenda, she said they couldn't bill the insurance because it was too late. I gave her a contact at the insurance company, according to the previous insurance, Dr. Gatlins office never billed them and they still had 9 months to bill.. Well after a phone all in October, letter faxed in December, and another phone call with Fredia in January I figured it was all taken care of. I got a call that my annual was due. I made an appointment, when I showed up they said they cancelled it because I had a balance due. No phone call, letter, or anything to let me know it was cancelled.
Fortunately for me (so I thought), I am organized and had all my notes with me. I gave the unhelpful receptionist the information and her response was... "if you want to see the doctor, you're going to have to pay your bill". She went on and on about how it was my responsibility to make sure I give them the correct insurance. I explained that my previous employer never took me off, so I didn't know. Needless to say, I am going to another OB/GYN and I hope Dr. Gatlin sees this review. His front office staff, including his office manager is not helpful and when you talk to her, she is very unprofessional and rude. I am a very responsible person and sometimes we have to work with people when things like this happen, but unfortunately they are not willing to care enough to do so. It's sad, that the Dr. Gatlins business has to suffer due to employees that are just there for a paycheck and could care less about the treatment of his patients.
