| - I've been shopping at this Fry's location since they first opened about 10 years ago. Good deals, good return policy, and internet price matching make this my go-to place when it comes to electronics. They have a great selection of electronic components and consumer goods and a pretty decent BluRay/DVD/CD section (at a time when most brick and mortar retailers have surrendered to Amazon).
TIP: Take advantage of their internet price matching, but know the details. Whenever I buy any big ticket items, I always search for the same item on my phone. More often than not, I can find it somewhere cheaper - sometimes considerably cheaper. If you do this, you'll have to track down one of the Fry's employees who will try to verify your find. This can take a long time. A very long time. They only match major online retailers - so even though it's on Amazon, if it's sold by one of Amazon's resellers, then it doesn't count. If you can find it from another store (like Walmart) , then they will check to see if the local store has it in stock. Otherwise, they will charge you for the shipping. Yes, it can be a pain, but if it can save you a bunch of cash, it's worth it - and it's better than waiting a week for Amazon to ship it to you.
The only real downside of shopping at Fry's is the almost universal apathy of their sales associates. Wow. Thee simply don't care. At all. I've been in situations where there are two or three associates talking to each other, almost actively trying to avoid having to deal with people. Also, unless you happen to get one of their experts, they are not the most knowledgable when it comes to electronics. But that's okay - that's what your smartphone is for!
They also have a pretty easy return policy. Oh and the store theme is...interesting.
Last tip - the cafe in the middle is not a half bad place to grab a sandwich while you're shopping!
