What can I say? I love bubble tea. But I've been so tired of all the fruity syrups that a lot of bubble tea shops are guilty of using. That's why I really appreciate it when there are bubble tea shops that try to use real fruit juice or offer a variety of teas.
I've been frequenting the Chatime in Toronto whenever I'm downtown, and to be honest, I'm pretty excited that there's finally one closer to home in Markham. No, I'm not a fan of the long line-ups either (but what do you expect during opening week?), or the fact that each one of their locations have very little space to sit and converse.
But if we're just talking just about the bubble tea... I'm a pretty happy camper. It's fun to see such an extensive variety of flavours and I'm always excited to try something new. Similar to Starbucks, they have the option to customize your drink to have your desired level of ice and sugar - which I think is neat because I'll admit, I can be a little spoiled with how I prefer my drinks to be made. (Less ice and 0% sugar please! Trust me, you won't even need it - especially if you're adding any toppings like tapioca or aloe.)
So if you're gonna come here, I'd strongly suggest trying one of their flavours that you can't normally order at other bubble tea shops. (I've been digging the Honey Pomelo Juice.) Oh, and get aloe instead of tapioca. And then get your arse outta there 'cause you probably won't get a seat.
