  • I picked my car up from Gerber about a week ago and so far all of the repairs were just fine. The back driver side of my vehicle was hit, damaging the back side panel, bumper, gas tank area and a small part of the back passenger door. The car looked like new again and they gave it a great wash and everything. It looks as if the accident never happened, great. So the reason I'm leaving a review of three stars is because of the treatment I received before I left the shop. I got in to my car and was getting ready to leave when I turned and looked at the back seat and it was filthy. There were stains and what looked like dirt or oil spots all over the backseat. Ok, I understand, things can get messy, these are mechanics working on a vehicle after all. So I go back inside to point it out and see if they could just go through and spot clean the back. When the gentleman who originally helped me (I forget his name now) came back out, I pointed the dirt and stains out to him and asked if there was a way for them to clean it. So he tells me that no one was ever in my car, since all the damage was on the outside, no one working there would have been in the car and it couldn't have come from anyone working there. Hmmmm.... well I know what my car looked like when I dropped it off, and it didn't have a bunch of stains in the back. "I can take it back to clean it, but I'm just letting you know it didn't come from anyone here." He said something along these lines. I ask if he has an upholstery cleaner in the shop because I'd be fine with cleaning it myself. "I said I'll clean it for you" he says, sounding pretty annoyed. Ok. Great. We're moving forward. I go back inside to sit down and wait and while I'm sitting in the lobby, low and behold, a mechanic comes from the back wearing overalls with dark, dirt spots and oil stains all over it. All I can think is, there's someone who was probably working on the side panel, seated in the backseat of my car. Oil and dirt all over himself. All in all, I'm satisfied with the actual work and he did have them clean the dirt and stains out of the backseat, however, I don't like being called a liar. It's not a nice feeling. Furthermore, when I actually did start my car and drive away, the satellite radio was on a station that I have never and would never listen to. Further proving that someone was in the car. Which is fine, I get that. And I understand that fixing cars can be messy, but if a mess is made in the process, at least clean it up. And don't treat the client like they're an annoyance or a burden when they point the mess out to you.
