| - Laïka is a wonderful, eclectic place that can suit any mood, or any outing. I never really plan on going here; I always just end up popping in and I'm never disappointed.
They have wonderful brunch (poached eggs with lardons, potatoes, creamy béchamel sauce and buttery, crispy baguette toast, or eggs baked in an avocado half with a spicy tomato sauce, yum!), great cappuccinos (with sweetened foam and cinnamon on top, how did they know that's exactly what I like?), a great tapas, lunch and dinner menu, happy hour from 4-8, and a great, cozy, candlelit lounge vibe at night.
Great electronic tunes emanate from the DJ booth all day long, suited to the vibe, atmosphere and itme of day (although I have been there in the evening working on my laptop, and experienced the strange transition from café hangout spot to more of a upbeat lounge via more upbeat tunes).
Not too pricy, always tasty, although I've never found the staff to be too friendly or attentive. The journey to find the bathroom is daunting the first time, as you adventure into the industrial bowels of the building.
