Let me preface this by saying that this review is not about the food/drinks at City Cafe, but rather about the owner and his anti-Muslim views. I am not Muslim, however today I was witness to him berating and degradig a teenager dressed in Niqab (a covering that leaves only the eyes revealed). Before even ordering, he questioned her nationality, to which she replied that she was American (she indeed was not ethnically from another country at all). He scofffed at her "ridiculous get-up". He then proceeded to tell her that she scared people because of her face covering, that people should leave "that stuff at home", that in public everyone should act the same in this society, that people should never show their religion in public. I asked him if he were Christian, to which he replied that he was but that it was irrelevant because he doesn't want to wear what's in his heart on his sleeve. The owner of this establishment showed me what is truly in his heart today. And after attacking her personhood, proceeded to ask what we'd like to order. Needless to say, I have no idea what anything tastes like at City Cafe.
And I never will.
