| - My sister and I got a Groupon for classic mani pedis. I don't expect the best from a Groupon, but I honestly felt like I wasted my money on this place. On top of the poor result of our nails, there were a lot of little issues with customer service that influenced my rating.
My sister's nails in particular were messy and unattractive. She keeps her nails trim and squared, but the technician shaped them terribly and got nail polish all over the sides of my sister's fingers. Her nails weren't buffed, some of her fingers were left with cuticles untrimmed, and the technician skipped the basecoat on one of her hands all together. The nail technician also rushed through her pedicure, and did a poor job removing callouses. Her nails chipped the second day, and she didn't do anything out of the ordinary with her hands that could have excused this. Basically, she could have done a better job herself, and I could have definitely done a better job with her nails at home for free.
The nail technician also rushed through the whole process, and got distracted when someone who we assume was her husband walked in through the door. Without a word she left my sister at the manicure station and left her waiting with a half finished manicure.
My own technician also got distracted when someone she knew came through the door, and rushed the end of my manicure so she could greet them and talk to their kid. It was just very unprofessional from my end as a new customer. The result of my mani/pedi on the other hand was better than my sister's as I believe I got a more skilled technician who took care to do my nails neatly. However when she made a mistake, she removed the polish by scraping at it with her own fingernail instead of using an orange stick or clean tool... Just a little unsanitary, sorry. My nails also weren't buffed, but my technician did all the other steps and removed cuticles meticulously. I keep my nails oval and on the longer side, and the technician's filing job/shaping left something to be desired. Nevertheless, she did a good job on my feet which is why it's two stars instead of one. I would have given them a 1.5 if it was possible.
Final word: The staff at this salon was on first name basis with a lot of their clients so they obviously have their "regular" clientele who they are close with and may do a better job with them (god knows they would have to, because with work like they did on my sister and I, I'm surprised they even have regular clientele), but either they were very cliquey and unwilling to give my sister and I the same level of service, or it's a group of unskilled technicians who only have family and friends as regular clients. Either way, would not recommend this place.
