  • As I've been flying out of Buffalo for many years it's been quite sometime since I've caught a flight out of Pearson. I did so three weeks ago to take my mom to see my sister and her new baby in Tampa. Even though Buffalo is far more cost effective most of the time, Pearson is a world class facility. The new terminal 1 is a wonder to behold in terms of it's architectural design. Bright and spacious. We were flying Air Canada, recently awarded the title of best North American airline. My mother required mobility assistance and couldn't have been treated any better. It is a little confusing where to go to check in for your flight, however any time we looked even a a little confused a staff member would immediately come to our aid. We didn't even have to ask. They whisked us through a special customs and security line and we we're airside in no time. Granted, we had special perks because of my mother's needs. The lines for everyone else were quite long. That's unfortunately the nature of air travel today and Pearson does it as efficiently as possible. As always, give yourself enough time. My only minor complaint is that for an airport of it's size it has surprisingly few choices for shopping and dining. A viewing platform would be welcome as well. Love the air train that takes you from the rather costly parking lot to the terminal. On our return the baggage claim was fast but there were too few monitors to indicate which carousel is for your flight for an area if it's size. To conclude, Pearson's terminal 1 is a travel experience that is awsome. Cheaper flights would make it even more so.
