  • This is another one of those places I've visited a dozen times or more in a variety of locations, but seem to fail to check in most of the time. The accumulated experiences mandate that it's time for a review. For a chain, I think it's one of the better ones. Brio's food is consistently good and most of the time, above average for a chain restaurant. We find ourselves going there with some frequency lately since this location is just a few miles from the house, in the nearby and still growing Tivoli Village. Easy to get to, great underground parking (a huge plus in the summertime!), and a nice place to stroll after overeating. (Yep, it's gonna happen.) The food: Two visits ago I had the Pasta Fra Diavalo. Not my first pasta dish here because they do a great job with not overcooking the pasta. The flavors were wonderful as alway and the dish was served at just the right temperature. I don't know if they heat their dishes, but I noticed that the bowl didn't cause the pasta to cool rapidly--something that happens too often at many restaurants. During my most recent visit I was able to sample a number of new tasty menu items: a fresh Caprese Salad. It was especially specially fresh and had just the right amount of dressing to allow the mild tomatoes and mozzarella to shine through. Next the group of us shared a Sausage and Pepperoni Flatbread, cooked well so that the flatbread was at just the right place between soft and too crisp. Next, Black Pepper Shrimp featuring middle-sized, peeled shrimp served on slices of eggplant and drizzled in a fantastic sauce. Brio found a great way to combine shrimp and eggplant into what became an instant favorite. I'll definitely order it again. I sampled Brio's take on bread pudding for dessert and was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't normally order bread pudding, but I'm glad I had the chance to try this. The portion was just right to follow a full meal and the pudding and sauce were delicious. I'd definitely get it again. The beverages: If you're in the mood for a little wine with your dinner, I recommend the White Peach Sangria. I'm not a fan of sweet wines or drinks, but this was nice and refreshing, and not too sweet to keep me from enjoying it. The service: Top notch for this kind of restaurant. The staff is always there taking care of you, but they're not in the way or hovering. I also love that they'll always tell you the specials, then make recommendations if you prefer. I almost always ask and when recommendations come, they seem genuine rather than what might otherwise feel like they were told to push a particular dish that day. Overall, well done Brio!
