| - We are a military family and have a 6 year old boy. My wife searched every school in Las Vegas and found St. Gabriel's. She was instantly sold on the facilities, the staff, and especially Brother Jude, Father Marcus, and Principal Bellinger. We were very impressed with the small class sizes, the above and beyond curriculum and the "small town" atmosphere that the school provides. My wife was sweating the admittance test and prepped our son for it.......haha. He did fine and was a Kindergartner soon afterwards. He is wrapping up his first year there and his transformation has been amazing. He speaks a little Spanish, plays the guitar, knows more history than me and just ask him about Mt. Rushmore and be prepared to be entertained for at least a half hour. The school also has a band, a choir (who just sang the National Anthem at the 51's game on a Friday night of Memorial Day weekend and they absolutely hit it out of the park, pun intended). Mrs. Johns is an excellent teacher, as are all of the teachers we have had the pleasure to meet/deal with. The school holds many fundraisers and showcase events which bring the school together. The administration is purposely kept small which helps with cost as we have friends that are public school teachers and the amount of money wasted on overinflated administration is sickening. Trish, who VOLUNTEERS to assist the Principal has been out sick for a couple weeks and Principal Bellinger had surgery so I can see how the 1 post is upset about the Administration. I can tell you from a years worth of experience that the 1 deep administration does everything they can and then some. Also, let me tell you about Mr. Patrick, the head of security. He is phenomenal. Not just at being a great security guard but he also attends the school functions and is loved by the kids. Him being a Veteran is icing on the cake. It's unfortunate that the poster above had a sour experience and now their kids are missing out on maybe the best grade school in Las Vegas, that is only getting better. Please don't let that experience deter you from St. Gabriel's, our son Blaise has grown leaps and bounds since becoming a Guardian! I could easily type for another 2 hours about the school, feel free to respond to this and I'll gladly tell you much much more about this phenomenal school!
