  • First of all, I'm never one to write bad reviews on Yelp. But I've had a long and horrible experience with them. I went to Luis as my general dentist when I was 16 and my mom decided that he would be a good orthodontist. I got my braces put on May of 2011. I had a tricky case with a gold chain and an impacted tooth that needed to be pulled down. So he went ahead and did oral surgery. He sent me home with stitches and NO PRESCRIPTION FOR ANTIBIOTICS, which I was bleeding profusely and had a minor infection. When I went back for him to remove the stitches, he did and finally prescribed me antibiotics after a week. A couple months later during a routine tightening, he yanked the chain a little too hard and it came off of the impacted tooth, I told him something felt funny and he said it was nothing and sent me home. A day later he calls my mom and tells her that he had accidentally yanked the chain off the tooth and I had to come back to REDO THE ORAL SURGERY. Every single time I go in there it is a nightmare. Fast forward not one, not two, not even three but FOUR years later, I am 20 years old. Still have braces and can't even see the light at the end of the tunnel because I'm not even close to being done yet. And every time I go in there it's the same excuses over and over. I understand my case is tricky, that's why I've been so patient. But 4 years is ridiculous. Not to mention, every time I go in there I'm waiting for an hour or two before they see me. I had an appointment scheduled in June, went in and I waited with my two year old for an hour and 45 minutes. The first hour and 15, my son was fine and I could keep him quiet and entertained . After that he started screaming and what am I supposed to do? I can't even be angry at him because I would feel the same way so I left and told them I would reschedule. I rescheduled to a what I thought would be a less busy day for them and went after work. Waited for an hour and when I got up and asked how much longer I was told 30 minutes. I have things to do. I can't be sitting in a waiting room for 2 hours for an incompetent dentist. She tells me to come back the next day during my lunch break. I make it very clear that I cannot be there for more than an hour. She said they would get me in right away. I get there today and they seat me immediately. His assistant comes and takes my rubber bands off, he finishes up with one patient after 30 minutes of me waiting and goes to the next patient instead of me. I waited for 45 minutes in the chair and then I got up and left. I can no longer do this. Save yourself the trouble and frustration and go to a dentist or orthodontist who knows what they're doing.
