I had a coupon from the ValPak for $4.99 chicken fried steak and eggs, so my Mom and I decided to check this place out. We have driven by numerous times, but have never been brave enough to go in.
It was around 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, and the restaurant was pretty empty. We were greeted by the hostess and sat in a booth immediately. We glanced quickly over the menu, but both had our hearts set on using the coupon. The chicken fried steak is normally $6.99, it's always nice to save a couple of dollars. :) Our server was friendly and took our order quickly.
The food didn't take long, but didn't come out too fast, if that makes sense. It was a large plate, with a HUGE piece of chicken fried steak, eggs and homefried potatoes. The steak was really crispy and the coating had a lot of flavor. I was really pleasantly surprised. The gravy was flavorful and didn't consume the entire plate. My eggs were a little bit over done, but that's ok. I thought that they potatoes were tasty, but totally unnecessary. There was so much food, they were pretty much an after thought. The meal was served with a choice of toast, biscuits or biscuits with gravy, which they didn't charge extra for (really surprising). My mom got sourdough toast and I got biscuits and gravy. The gravy was the same as on the CFS, but just didn't taste as good. I think it was because the biscuits weren't that flavorful.
Overall, the place was great. The service was friendly and good and I would definitely go back!
