  • As many reviewers have noted the food at Ella's is both substandard and expensive. It seems to be getting worse; the corned beef and pastrami are dry and tasteless, and tonight my dining companion's omelette and my kugel were both brought to the table cold. The server was friendly but forgot my fork, there was no salt or pepper on the table, and she thought that lox was "raw salmon." This once upon a time was a decent deli by midwestern standards, but the only reason to go there now is with some little kids to enjoy the ice cream, the carousel, and the manic cartoon atmosphere.
