  • We did the model home thing as some others negatively review. We put up 5.4 kW and have been very happy with operation of the system. We had none of the bad problems of the one star reviews. Our system is working as designed and our electric bills have been were under $30/month since install (waiting that fun June bill!) The promise they made was that we would pay less, on average than our old electric bills if you include the loan plus the bill. So far, so true. We will see overtime. If I would make any change it would have been to simply go through the subcontractor, Sun Valley Solar. Nothing at all against Pure Energy, but they are primarily here to sell me a system. I was really impressed with Sun Valley Solar. (this thinking is my only reason for not giving them 5-Stars) Also, if you are thinking solar, just call. They have low cost loans available that use two loans, one is interest free while you wait to do your taxes. And finally, get'm bird proofed right away. We had birds nesting under ours immediately. PE recommended AZ Solar Care who also did a good job. 11/2015 Update. First summer of use and very happy. Still have the same suggestions in mind as above. I cannot express the pigeon proofing enough. We pigeon proofed the solar after the damn birds got on our roof and then ended up later having to bring in the pigeon doctor to go after the flock that had moved in. If we had pigeon proofed up front, we would have saved annoyance and $$. 6/2018 update. Still happy. Only thing I would change would be to add a wireless monitoring system and/or have used micro inverters for the panels. (At install PE & SVS both said no to micro inverters, today it's more standard).
