  • Absolutely adorable buffet-style bakeshop. As soon as you get in, you're pretty much overwhelmed with all the options of authentic chinese desserts (ask all your international friends - this is definitely their home away from home for all the uoft kids). I went with a group of friends after the new hotpot place opened up, and was surprised to see that they had quite a variety of goods after 9pm, near closing. We chose an assortment of things that looked good (I didn't know what was with the yolk in all the treats, so I had to try five, of course), and about 12 things added up to $4 with the 3 for $1 deal... this place is a miracle. The cashier was friendly and welcoming, so I don't really understand everyone's complaints about the English? It's definitely one of my new go-to places for different snacks without hurting a student's budget, so you can be expecting us after any/all tests from now on! Only thing that would make this place even better would be the addition of more lunch/dinner bun options (as they're real strong on the dessert front) that's not pork or pig products - veggie, chicken, and/or beef buns would get this place even more business!
