It was a Sunday morning, the regular vet was closed, and our good boy was in bad, bad shape. Wouldn't eat (unheard of), coughing lots of blood, extremely lethargic. We had heard varying stuff about AEC but knew at least one person with a good experience so we got him in. Vet was super gentle, did an exam, didn't like what she saw and so ordered bloodwork that came back ugly. Rat poison. Dog spent the night and was given a fairly rigorous course of treatment. At each step we confirmed with a family member/veterinarian that everything being done was standard best practices and along those lines it all checked out.
Maybe not the Ritz Carlton but it was clean. The cost was considerable (+$1000) but that's the nature of emergency care. Vet family member said total wasn't unusual considering the circumstances.
Bottom line they took very good care of our dog and certainly saved his life. Thanks AEC.
