| - I saved a lot at Earnhardt compared to the first Honda dealer I visited, and Jamale in Sales and GG in Finance were excellent to work with, BUT.....15 minutes after I left the dealer with my new Honda, the instrument display went out for a few minutes and then came back on. That night night, it went out again and stayed out. Honda got me right in the next day, but it wasn't to fix the car, it was just to confirm that my lying eyes were being honest and there was no instrument display. This means I needed to make another trip back since they had to order the display. I asked about a loaner, since the car was only 15 minutes old when it malfunctioned and I sorta like to know to know how fast I'm driving and I was refused. I pursued the issue and they did relent and give me a loaner. My complaints are: 1. the car had 100 miles on it when I took possession and I think it's reasonable to presume an Earnhardt employee, or two, or three or more, had noticed they couldn't see how fast they were driving and chose not to bother to get it fixed..... they decided the purchaser could waste him time instead...incidentally, my bad for not test driving this particular car. I drove another one there which had a rough idle and, just call me crazy, but I thought a new car should go for for than 15 minutes without a serious
problem. 2. I shouldn't have had to argue that giving me a loaner was the right thing to do...they should have offered it immediately to make up for the inconvenience. 3. I got a survey asking how they did and I reported the above....I've heard nothing from Earnhardt, altho, I may now since this is posted.
In summary; this is NO WAY to treat a new customer.
