| - I used to LOVE Banner Good Samaritan! My younger sister & brother were born there as well as my nephew. This last time that I had a relative in their hospital was a disgrace!! My grandmother, God rest her soul, was a long time patient at Banner Good Samaritan. She loved going there whenever she had to be hospitalized in her later years, which was quite a few times. Last year, 2013, she was once again hospitalized there for a few months and diagnosed with Stage 4 Bone Cancer after having had a mastectomy a few years prior due to breast cancer. I'm not faulting them for her cancer diagnosis', her kidney failure, congestive heart failure or her diabetes. Yes, she had all these afflictions and was still a sirit filled child of God who didn't complain about her condition. I was saddened and disappointed to hear that during her last stint, she was mistreated by some of the nursing staff at Banner Good Samaritan. She was told to wait & have her family feed her her lunch and that "you fed them", instead of them simply assisting her. She was made to wait in the restroom for several minutes before they would come to assist her in getting back in bed. Bear in mind that my grandmother was 83 years old during this time and prone to falls, if she wasn't assisted properly. The elderly are so dependant on others for help! If you can't get adequate help from those paid to help you, where can you get help?? To top it all off, she was discharged from Banner because though she had Stage 4 Bone Cancer, "there was nothing else they could do for her". SHAME ON BANNER GOOD SAMARITAN for how they treated my grandmother!!!!!!! She passed on Father's Day weekend in 2013, a month after being discharged from Banner Good Samaritan!! Due to their very poor treatment of 1 of the dearest, sweetest, loving and caring people in the world, my grandma, myself and many others in my family will NEVER give our business to Banner Good Samaritan...EVER AGAIN!!!
