Scott's Generations Restaurant & Delicatessen is New York Style Jewish type of deli and is well known for serving over sized deli sandwiches and breakfast all day. They are NOT KOSHER but Jewish style. They also offer deli take items. One of the things that sets this New York Style Deli Restaurant above the others is the selection of smoked fish they offer. I'm not aware of any similar restaurants that offer really expensive Sturgeon or Sable smoked fish. They also offer the better tasting hard-to come-by Belly Lox and a few other fish you don't find at other restaurants.
One of my favorite plates to get here is the Smoked Fish Platter. They say it serves one person but I get two meals out of it. It comes with delicious crisp deli pickle spears, some veggies, a correct size bagel, cream cheese, potato salad, cole slaw and three selections of smoked fish. I really like it and I can't get it anywhere else!
Most of the time the Pastrami is better tasting than from many of the other New York Style restaurants. Usually it's that just right seasoning and seems the most similar to an east coast taste, not too much smoke with extra black pepper and is very tasty. Also not too lean and not too fatty....and you have to get it on that double cooked Rye Bread. I did notice that once in a blue moon they do get in an off batch that is not as flavorful but still better than from an average sandwich shop that uses Boars Head Brand.
I've tried the knish....it's good and better tasting than from an other popular spot...but not the kind that is east cost bakery rom my memory...........I do like it since it's better than from another spot. but I's not my memory.
Service is usually quick and efficient.
This new location is bright, shiny and clean looking.
