  • This vet clinic is ok, but they seem very limited on what they can do for more serious problems. From my last two visits, we were referred to Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center both times. But not before significant and costly bills were ran up by Grand Montecito. Of those two visits, one was clearly out of their league. Ethically, they should have informed us right away that they were not capable of helping. It was a textbook disc issue with the dachshund breed. I feel slighted because of so much time being wasted there. This is when I learned that Dachshund disc problems are time sensitive that have to be taken care of immediately otherwise that dachshund could be permanently disabled. In our case, Grand Montecito made sure they got paid first. Additionally, while it didn't happen to me, I observed the desk staff being short with patient's owners that were obviously stressed. In one circumstance, as worried owner came out of the exam room and asked if his dog was going to see a vet soon. The desk lady said "the doctor will be with you in just a moment" full of attitude, but then went right back to typing on her computer. That's not cool in any situation. Everybody has bad days, but that's not the place to exhibit it. Overall, the desk staff and vets were polite and nice to me. It's obvious they care about animals, but like I said before, they're limited on what they can do, but they make sure they bottom line is covered. Save yourself the time, stress and money. Go to Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center or another vet that can the same services. It may even save your pet's life.
