  • I bought a chair that I paid almost $3000 for to replace a chair that I bought from Lazy boy furniture 20 plus years ago. The same chair exactly. I have waited for two months to get it delivered and NO ONE from Thomasville has notified me that it arrived. My original purchase date was 12/9/16. Today I called to the Tempe store and spoke with the Manager at the Tempe store Roger who called the distribution center and found out that my chair has been in the distribution center for a week and no one has made any effort to notify me. So my husband and I decided that we would forego the delivery and pick the chair up ourselves since it has taken so long to get it. We got to the distribution center and the chair was clearly scratched. It is leather and the leather was scratched. When I told the warehouse attendant this he brought another person over who tried to convince my husband and myself that it was the distressed look! I then called the Tempe store again and spoke directly to Roger and explained this to him and he stated he would notify the ware house manger Deb of this. As I waited for the manger the warehouse staff continued yes to try to convince me it's the way the chair is supposed to look. Which I know is complete BS! I went to my truck and waited for the manager as my husband waited by the chair. And the chair is not put together well. It is very rickety! So the manager Deb came and briefly told my husband that it is supposed to look like that and all they could do is order another one with the same wait time. Otherwise we could take the chair and go to the customer service at the Tempe store and work with the customer service there. By this time I am pretty heated under the collar and told my spouse that I will NEVER purchase any other furniture from this store! I have bought furniture from the Albuquerque store and was very pleased with it but the service here has been unbelievably deplorable! I NEVER leave poor reviews. I am usually very understanding of circumstances, but when you purchase the same chair years earlier at Lazyboy furniture and get great service and feel that the reputation of Thomasville is equally as good as Lazyboy but the service is worse after the purchase--something needs to be said! I am completely angry and upset that such a service is given for what used to be a great furniture store. Make no mistake--Lazyboy and not Thomasville will get my future business! I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for and paying premium prices for a quality product is standard mode of operation. I hope that a senior management person reaches out to me and prevents anyone else from having this happen to them. The only reason I added the one star rating is because my sales associate at the Tempe store was amazing. Too bad that the rest of the service was so poor! Deanna, Mesa Az.
