| - I've been to Todd's--and loved it--about 6 times, so I feel it's about time I wrote a review to support this (consistently!) excellent restaurant.
I guess the best way to describe the menu is to say that every dish tastes like the best version of your favorite food, but with one or two surprising and delightful additions. For example, lots of places have calamari as an app, but Todd's adds just a smidge of chipotle chili for a kick that never overpowers.
The watermelon salad is also not to be missed--don't think about the listed ingredients--just have faith and order it. You will not be sorry.
The menu changes, and there's usually a couple of special entrees, but you can always count on a nice cross section of seafood, poultry, and red meat, as well as a gluten free and veggie option. My husband almost always gets whatever risotto is featured because it's always fantastic. I tend to surf around--moist yet crispy duck, short ribs with jalapeno mashed potatoes, seared scallops, meatloaf with wild mushroom gravy--but I've never had any dish that was less than wonderful.
If you want to impress a client or a new crush with truly good food, you simply cannot go wrong here. Don't let the strip mall location deter you.
Seating tip: if you can, get a table. The booths are rather uncomfortable, and the pattern is vintage 1985.
Last tip--the French Kiss cocktail is yummy--and even makes the booth bench pretty comfy once you've had one!
