I took my younger cousins for their first bingsoo a while ago. My aunt wanted some, but bingsoo isn't really something you can take to go, unless you're walking and eating it. I told her I'd bring her another time. Yesterday was that day. The two of us went for bingsoo!
I'm thrilled that I can get legit bingsoo at Pmall. What's great is I don't have to wait for a table and I can get one I can finish myself. I will most definitely go back to places like The Cups and Cafe Bene, but Soul is great for smaller portions. I shared the injeolmi (rice cake with roasted grain powder) flavored one with my aunt yesterday, and at just over $5, it was a nice pre-dinner treat, especially after chasing kids all day. They're mostly a takeout place, but they do have three little stools inside where you can sit and grab a bite. I appreciate that they layered the grain powder, condensed milk, and shaved ice. It helps when you're trying to grab some of everything in one bite. For a little shop in Pmall, they're doing a fantastic job. The shaved ice is light and fluffy and has the texture of powdered snow.
My aunt enjoyed it so much that she's already talking about when she's going to pick me up from camp again just so we can get bingsoo. LOL
