| - *Service: Mink eyelash extensions (full set)
*Bought a voucher on a group-buying site
I have to say, I was reluctant to even bother redeeming my voucher after reading the negative reviews on here. But, I'm glad I decided to go as I ended up having a totally different experience from what many people Yelped about.
When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a pleasant employee. Yes, for the vouchers, tax is not included and so you do pay tax on the amount you paid for the voucher (in my case, $40). Unlike many, I was not "asked" to pay a tip up-front however since I paid by credit, I was automatically prompted by the credit/debit terminal, which is standard when paying debit or credit at a restaurant or a personal-services business. So, I went ahead and included my tip (based on the actual value of the service ($80) right away. I suppose I could have tipped after the service, but I decided to go ahead and pay upfront for two reasons:
*I didn't have cash on me and so it was convenient to put it all as one payment,
*I figured that going with the flow and tipping in advance would ensure a higher standard of service.
Angela did my extensions. She was pleasant, friendly and although this was my first time getting eyelash extension, seemed efficient, yet thorough. When I returned to work after my appointment, I did get comments that the quality of the job and product looked very good.
When I left the salon, the woman who greeted me was working on a client's manicure, but she did take a moment to say good-bye as I made my way out.
All-in-all, I'm quite happy with my visit. I probably won't go for a manicure because I already have a favourite place for that service but I will very likely come back to Feeling for maintenance on my eyelashes.
